Solar Panels that Work at Night?

No you are not reading that wrong.
The very definition of solar would seem to make working at night impossible and yet this brief article says it is going on.

Technology does seem to be solving many of our energy issues.  Who knows what a solar panel will do next? What do you think?  Leave your thoughts below.

Every Little Bit Counts

Renewable energies like solar and wind energies are beneficial in many ways for the environment.  The same sun beam can power multiple solar panels and the same wind gust the turns windmill A will also turn windmill B which is a very efficient system.

So since the environmental benefits are established let's look at the financial benefits.  When you use a renewable energy over one that is not you don't just help the environment you help your wallet in a variety of ways.

If you use solar garden lights to light your pathways instead of plugging into the grid or leaving the yard dark you save money on the light bill and in other ways.  Many insurance companies will give you breaks for adding safety and security features to your yard.  Lighting could be one of these features.  It is much easier to trip and hurt yourself over something you can't see.  When you can see hazards you naturally avoid them.

Many people are renting homes and cannot put in windmills or solar panels since they do not own the property.  There are still little things that  can be done such as use portable solar chargers to power rechargeable items like a cell phone or camera.  They can light the yard with solar garden lights instead of turning on the grid tied flood lights that cost money to run and they don't decorate as well as solar garden lights do.

These are just some of the little things that can be done to stretch and conserve resources and save you money as well.

Every little bit you do helps!

Solar Powered Water Pumps

Solar Powered Water Fountain
Trickling water always seems to add a soothing mood whoever is around it.  I have known people to be very upset and ranting and yet when they come to a waterfall or a water fountain, they calm down and watch the waterfall.

I am not sure why something so simple seems to calm us but I am grateful for such a little thing like a water fall being able to.

With newer equipment it is getting easier to have a water fall or a water fountain at your home or even at a small business.  You can put a fountain in your favorite statue and you can make a fountain in your favorite garden or fish pond.  There are lot of possibilities.

Solar powered water pumps are very simple to install and they don't cost you any money to run.  So if you have been putting off doing a fish pond or just using a solar water pump to add to your garden art it is easier than in the past since you don't have to dig wires in the ground.  Just set the solar panel in the sun to be charged.

I know many of you are holding special events like weddings and anniversary parties in back yards instead of renting halls.  A solar fountain might just be the right thing to add to make your party even more special.

If you need help or have an idea on backyard water fountains and ponds LEAVE YOUR COMMENT BELOW.  We look forward to seeing them.

Stretching Energy

Things are changing constantly with renewable energy, and that is a good thing.
We have new technologies which allow us to use energy much more efficiently than we have in the past.

With solar, hydro and wind energy the same sunbeam, water, or gust of wind can power many solar panels, hydro generators and windmills.  With fossil fuels one gallon of gas powers one car, no more just one.

Just think of what can be accomplished; an office building is powered by solar panels; inside the computers have solar keyboards that charge from the solar powered lights.  You could never do that with fossil fuels.

That is my good thought for the day.  Have a good one everyone!

Solar Panel Conflicts- Here We Go

My article this month is about how to solve environmental energy issues peacefully. We are already having some issues with this.

This article demonstrates what is about to visit more communities if we don't get ahead of the problem now.

Energy needs are ever increasing.  We are not going to stop using electricity, cars etc.  It just isn't practical.  So other things are going to have to change to get us the clean energy we need.

Read this article on the homeowners that wanted to put in solar panels and the homeowners association that wouldn't let them and weigh in your comment below.

Contest

Raptor cell phone charger, altimeter etc.
There is still time to get your story in for a chance to win a free solar charger.  The contest ends Friday.  It doesn't have to be an outdoors man type story.  It could be about the time that you had a ice storm, the power was out and you needed to charge your cell phone battery to touch base with the power company. Have a great day!

Check out the contest here.
